The local field did not have a flag pole so the American Flag was hoisted high on a Chapel Hill Fire Truck with Lonnie Harp on right and Captian, Darryl Rimmer on left watch as the UNC Air Ambulance “Tar Heel 1” slowly flew over the field during the National Anthem, a fitting salute to our local hero’s. This Championship game was held Sunday afternoon at Homestead Park during the 3rd Annual Guns & Hoses Tournament. The tournament featured fire departments and law enforcement agencies from around the area and was hosted by Chapel Hill Firefighters Association as a fund raiser for the NC Burn Center at UNC Hospital. Durham County Sheriff Department was undefeated during the tournament. (cq) Photos by Jim Kenny.com
