SP.050210.GUNSHOSE.JLK3 Durham County Sheriff players stand during the National Anthem. The local field did not have a flag pole so the American Flag was hoisted high on a Chapel Hill Fire Truck and the UNC Air Ambulance “Tar Heel 1” slowly flew over the field during the National Anthem, a fitting salute to our local hero’s. This Championship game was held Sunday afternoon at Homestead Park during the 3rd Annual Guns & Hoses Tournament. The tournament featured fire departments and law enforcement agencies from around the area and was hosted by Chapel Hill Firefighters Association as a fund raiser for the NC Burn Center at UNC Hospital. Durham County Sheriff Department was undefeated during the tournament. (cq) Photos by Jim Kenny.com
